Principal's Update

08/26/2025 00:30:54

August 25, 2025

Good morning, Resurrection Catholic School families!

I hope your summer has been restful, joyful, and filled with special time with loved ones. We are officially counting down—school begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This is a 12:00 noon dismissal.

Mrs. Megan Baker, our Vice Principal, can be reached at her RCS email address: mbaker@rcscherryhill.com. Her office will be located on the second floor. This office is separate from her classroom.

Here are a few important reminders:

  • Meet & Greet (PreK–8): Wednesday, August 27, from 6–8 p.m. Students are welcome to explore the newly upgraded foyer, meet their teachers, drop off supplies, and reconnect with friends.  The PreK laminated sign for car dash/visor viewing will be handed out at the Meet & Greet. If you are not available that night, we will hand it out to you at carline on Tuesday morning.

  • Morning Drop-Off: Grades K–8 will be dropped off at the back of the school near the grass courtyard. Staff and 8th-grade students will be on hand to assist.

    • PreK students (and their siblings) should be dropped off in front of the school. Families will receive a laminated PreK sign on Greet & Meet night for their dashboard/visor so traffic staff can direct you to the front. School buses will also drop off at the front entrance.

  • Dismissal: Procedures remain the same as last year.

  • ACE Registration is now available.  Access the link here: ACE Application or on the Green Envelope.

  • Family Handbook: The handbook has been updated. Please review it carefully, as several policies have been updated and are highlighted in RED. (Link to Family Handbook)

  • Staffing Update: Interviews for the 2nd-grade teaching position are being completed today. I hope to announce our new hire shortly and have them join us at Meet & Greet.

  • Technology Updates: A Promethean Board is being installed in one PreK4 classroom and the PreK3 classroom this week—donated generously by a friend of Mrs. Sue Varallo. We are deeply grateful for their kindness (our donor wishes to remain anonymous). In addition, a Prometheus board has been installed in the art room. Air hand dryers have been installed in all the bathrooms upstairs and first floor. This will cut down on mess and cost of paper towels.

  • Clubs & Programs: Our after-school Chess Club is scheduled to begin this year, and the in-school music program will continue.

  • Volunteers Needed: We are in need of additional cafeteria volunteers. Your help would be a great blessing to both students and staff—please consider lending a hand! Virtus website.

  • Walker/Biker Applications: A linked online form is available here Walker/Baker Application and will be on the Green Envelope. A completed application is required before any student may walk or bike home.

  • Finally, a reminder from our handbook: no makeup of any kind and NO nail polish is permitted. Please be sure to review this and all other guidelines before the first day.

Thank you, as always, for choosing Resurrection Catholic School. May God bless you and your families as we begin another wonderful year together!
